How Anchor keeps your documents safe

Simple security.
Built so only you can see it.

This page explains, in plain language, how Anchor protects your Bahamian passport and NIB. You don't need to be a security expert โ€” if you're comfortable using a smartphone, you can understand how Anchor works.

Your phone encrypts first

When you add a document, your phone scrambles it before anything leaves your device. What reaches our servers already looks like random noise.

  • The clear photo never leaves your device unprotected
  • We only store encrypted versions of your passport and NIB
  • Even if someone opened our database, they would see unreadable data

Only your face or fingerprint can unlock

Anchor uses the same passkey technology as banks and major phone makers. Your face or fingerprint unlocks a key that lives on your device โ€” not on our servers.

  • No passwords to remember or leak
  • Your biometric data never leaves your phone
  • We never see or store your unlock pattern

Guardians for device loss

If you lose your phone, 2 of your 3 trusted guardians can help you get back in on a new device. They confirm it's really you โ€” but they still can't see your documents.

  • Choose 2โ€“3 people you trust: family, close friends, or colleagues
  • Any 2 of them can approve recovery on a new phone
  • Guardians never see your passport or NIB images
๐Ÿงพ
Clear records, no surprises

Anchor keeps a simple history of important events, so you always know what's happening with your vault.

  • When documents are added, updated, or removed
  • When recovery is started or completed
  • Activity is tied to your account, not shared publicly
